I started doing my textures on Maya8, I used both the cylindrical and planar mapping, I found that the uv mapping was easy once I got the hang of it, it was loads of practice that I found myself becoming more comfortable using the textured tools in Maya8 and photo shop. half of the textures that I put onto my blog I had to do loads of work in Maya8 with cropping the textures because some of the textures were 3D. I found that mapping and using the bump tool gave my design depth and a sense of feeling more real. This is the mapping image that I copied into photo shop to then put a texture on it.
Looking at the princess I gathered information on what type of dress fabric that she might be wearing I have shown them below with the other fabrics, I also wanted to research her hair and skull for the princess.
These are the prob type of textures, I did use the gold colour on loads of the propsbecause she is a princess i tried using the colours gold, red and white a lot.
All the other textures are for either little things around the room or added into another object in the design. I thought off using these for the princess outfit that she is wearing and inside her wardrobe. there is clothes and shoes on show so most of these texture can work on them.
